This work visa option followed on from a 12 month open “Job Search” visa.
This Work Visa was called a variety of names including “Employer Assisted”, “WD1” and “Graduate Work Visa”. However, this work visa will no longer be available from 26 November 2018.
The replacement Post or Study Work Visa will be focussed on degree level (Level 7) qualifications because INZ found many overseas students were completing qualifications below degree level qualifications and then struggling to secure work and residence path options.
INZ will also encourage study outside Auckland.
The new instructions for the Post Study Work Visa have not yet issued but will issue towards the end of November.
